Now, before I delve any further into what those secrets are I want you to do something for me. I want you to STOP …  stop and re-read the first 4 paragraphs of the article. 

 

When you do that you may notice that much of the language I have used is designed to involve you in an active way … in what I am saying.

 

It is designed to put YOU …  in the driver’s seat … instead of leaving you as a spectator in the grandstand.

 

With that you may have noticed that these paragraphs contain classic hypnotic phrases that are not only used in hypnosis, you will also find them used by the most talented copywriters around.

Using hypnotic language either in a face-to-face situation or on paper enables you to

develop a deep … deep connection with your reader. And when you have developed that deep connection, they like you. They trust you. And … they’re much more likely to buy from you.

 

No doubt you’ve seen it before in a face to face situation.

 

Lets say you’re a great salesperson.

 

You’re confident. In fact, you have a real way with people.

 

So - you meet a potential client for the first time.  What do you do? What do you say to them?

 

Chances are you will engage them in conversation, be cheerful, and maybe use some flattery to break down those barriers and build rapport.

 

You ask questions and talk with them about something you both have in common You then relate to them on their level by discussing something that is important to them.

 

For example:

 

 “You know how annoying it is when xxxxxxxx?”  “Well don’t worry, you’re not alone.  In fact, most people think that way…” 

People like to feel that others think the same way they do. They love validation.

 “Here at xyz company we understand just how frustrating it can be [waiting in line to be served ]. That’s why … 

Whether you are in a face to face situation or whether you are writing a marketing piece, the linguistic techniques you use to build rapport are exactly the same.

 

Involve them 

Now, once you have built rapport with your audience, involve them even further in the conversation. Doing this is one of the keys to developing a deep, truly hypnotic connection with them.

 

Here are some great words and phrases that enable you to do that:

 

·        Sit back.

·        Relax.

·        Pour yourself a cup of coffee.

·        Read this.

·        Peel off Tab A and place it in hole B.

·        Feel the silky soft …

·        Notice the sweet smell of …

·        See the light dance off the .

·        Remember a time when …

·        Picture this …

·        Imagine that …

 

There are many hundreds of linguistic techniques you can use to write copy that has a hypnotic effect on your reader, but by starting with the ones mentioned in this article you’ll find that this can have a tremendous impact on your results.
